The blaze happened on Tuesday, May 7 in Ossining in the area of Liberty Street and Spring Street, where a multi-floor residence went up in flames, according to Ossining Police.
Arriving fire crews from Ossining and Croton-on-Hudson soon began working to put the blaze out.
During a search of the home, a man was found on the second floor and removed to awaiting first responders outside the residence, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.
However, the man later died at a nearby hospital. His name has not yet been released.
Fire officials said the response to the blaze took around 90 minutes in total. The cause of the fire was not detailed.
